Halle Berry in Marchesa....flawless hair and make-up, beautiful jewels and a stunning Red Carpet-worthy gown....
Hailee Steinfeld.....beautiful in a Marchesa gown which she helped design
Helen Mirren looking absolutely fantastic in Vivienne Westwood - such a great colour for her and as always, her hair and make-up are the right tones to give her a totally radiant look
Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang
Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein
Amy Adams in L'Wren Scott (loved the colour and the jewels - altho not necessarily together!)
Cate Blanchett in Givenchy....not everyone's choice but I thought she carried it off perfectly
Hilary Swank in Gucci Premiere
Michelle Williams in Chanel Haute Couture....I'm not usually a fan of very pale gowns and Michelle Williams can often be hit and miss for me....but she looked beautiful in this
Florence Welch in vintage Valentino
Camila Alves in Kaufman Franco
I have to say that there wasn't one stand-out dress for me this year at the Oscars....lots that I liked but not many that I loved AND ticked all the boxes...many people got the right colour but wrong dress - or wrong shoes....some dresses just weren't "enough"....and some, as always, were way too much!
And if you need a man behind you to carry your dress, then I'm not sure it's the right choice.
It's the Oscars, you can't be glamorous enough, in my opinion.
Having spent today browsing many images and catching up on the Red Carpet footage, I have concluded that the above selection are my absolute favourites.
And finally.....well done Colin Firth and "The King's Speech", a wonderful movie....and Christian Bale and Melissa Leo who were just fantastic in "The Fighter".
