Busy, busy week and I cannot believe it is already half way through; phew! I am on the go with lots on my mind so tonight it is time for a "this and that" post.
* I am shocked I am actually saying this (because now you all are going to have to hold me accountable), but this person who has HATED running for as long as I can remember is going to run a 5k! I literally cannot express how much I used to hate running. It was the WORST form of exercise imaginable to me. However, with a little determination and a few weeks of pushing myself I am becoming obsessed. I would LOVE to be able to run a 5k next month, but I am reminding myself to take it one step at a time and train rather than rush into something.
* This past weekend I got an email from a furniture dealer I recently found saying she just got a set of bamboo chairs in. They need some love, but they were too fantastic to pass up. I knew I would not have such a great chance for such beauties again so I committed myself to them.
I heard back from the fabulous dealer that night saying she also had a wonderful mahogany table with bamboo detailing for a steal. I am planning to paint the chairs a lacquer white and did not have a table to go with them so voila:
Now I just need to set up the pick-up time!
* I will be picking a winning for the Graphic Image giveaway hurry and enter! I will be picking a winner tomorrow around lunch time.
* On another giveaway note, Preppy and Proud Of It...you need to email me by Friday at noon to claim your Smathers and Branson prize!!
*April is a FANTASTIC month for entertainment! Water for Elephants comes out at the end of the month and just a week later The Royal Wedding will be watched around the world. I CANNOT wait to see Kate Middleton's dress. She is getting to live out SO many girls' dreams...she will walk in Westminster a lady and walk out a future Queen!
* Has anyone been watching The Kennedy on Reelz? I started on Sunday night and am really enjoying it thus far. I have read about and studied the Kennedy's quite frequently for years. In fact, I did my graduation requirement junior year paper on Jackie's restoration of The White House.
* Recently, I have talked to several friends who have had or are having family members or significant others deployed. So, I was beyond thrilled to find out a friend's Kappa Alpha Theta chapter was partnering with the USO. The USO provides FANTASTIC support for military members and their families and your support is always sure to go a LONG way with them...
• $50 can provide 140 phone calls to loved ones back home. • $50 can provide 2 care packages to a service member deploying. • $42 can help 3 deployed parents read their children a bedtime story through the United Through Reading program.
If you are interested in supporting this AMAZING organization (that I really can speak of highly enough) go here. On that note I would also LOVE to hear from those who have used the USO services. Thank you for your service or the service of your loved ones in advance!
