This is Jaaja Barb’s Home of Angels in Uganda....
Kim's mother Barb visited Africa last year and fell in love with the people there....
wanting to do something to help she, with the help of contacts she made there, began helping to build the Home for Children that you see above....
I am so full of admiration for her for seeing a terrible situation and actually doing something to help, instead of just coming home and putting it at the back of her mind.

they hope to be able to finish the project this year but they are already able to take in some children from the streets.
Barb was particularly inspired by Edwin, a 22 year old boy from Jinja. He lives in a Home for Children but has made it his mission to help the children who live on the street and spend their days foraging on the rubbish dumps.
Jinja has a very high HIV/AIDS rate, a population of 100,000 and 58% of that figure are children, most of them living on the streets - a staggering and horrifying figure.
They are desperate to drill a well....currently children are walking 4 miles each way to a swamp....and this is the water they bring back.....
Barb currently bakes dozens of banana bread loaves each week to help raise much needed funds and she and Edwin hope that the Home of Angels may be completed this year.
I am big believer in giving back....sometimes it does only take a little to make a huge difference.
I think this project is so inspiring and I am working on some other ways in which I can help to fundraise for it....every donation will be used immediately and is transforming lives.
I know that I have asked for your help before - many people kindly supported me when I did my run for Breast Cancer last year and so many of you wrote to and supported Daddy Butch which was just fantastic, you were all brilliant.
Every penny or cent donated will help....and if we all gave one dollar, pound or whatever currency your country has today what a fabulous thing that would be....
Help bring this dream to fruition....make a difference.
If you would like to support Barb and Edwin or make a donation of even the smallest amount - or find out more - please do so here
(or donate up in the top right of my sidebar, directly via Paypal...thank you).
