Hair and Care

A dear friend from Taft (on the left) contacted me just after my birthday to tell me her company was launching a new line of hair care products. She graciously offered for me to test the new Wella line as soon as it hit salons and considering how much I love hair I jumped on the opportunity!

I started coloring my hair in college. I had blond hair growing up and it slowly started to get darker the older I got. Finally, I came to the realization (a smart one...blonds have more fun) that I looked better with lighter hair. Again, I am extremely lucky in that my hair holds color and does not grow too terribly fast. I used to go in ever 8 to 12 weeks to have my hair colored so in early April I was due for an appointment and headed over to the Dallas Wella approved salon, Matthew Tully. To say I had a wonderful experience would be an understatement. Matthew walked me through all the steps and Wella products so that I became familiar with the process (something I had actually never paid attention to before). He worked with my skin tone and found a shade of golden blond that was much more flattering on me and I just LOVE it!

I have very thick hair; very, very, very thick actually. It is always a small miracle when someone can properly style my hair, let alone get it straight. Well, Matthew did just that with the help of Wella! I walked out of the salon with stick straight, NO frizz hair! Now, it is always one thing to get perfect hair in a salon and an entirely different to go home and do it yourself. It used to take me at least an hour to blow dry my hair and once all was said and done I was beat and my hair no longer even smelled like the yummy shampoo.Well, with the help of all the fabulous Wella at-home products I have managed to dry my hair in just over 30 minutes (a huge feat for this thick haired girl)! Not only that, but even after holding the dryer rather close(bad I know, but that works for thick hair and I I keep the dryer and brush moving) my hair STILL smells wonderful! I am unsure if it is my thick hair, but normally the smell of shampoo and conditioner NEVER sticks. However, that all changed in March when I started using my Wella products. In fact, I think it just might have something to do with the Wella scent team. Both Katie and Matthew told me they work with the P&G prestige scent team which also develops Dolce and Gabbana and Escada fragrances. I cannot pass up luxury in any form!

"All of the Wella Care & Styling products are designed to invigorate and energize you with floral-fruity notes that you experience both in the shower and long after you’ve washed. The Brilliance line for colored hair has the beauty of a feminine floral bouquet entwined with a subtle quince accord and enlightened with a bright top on a creamy sandalwood musky drydown. The Care products (shampoos, conditioners and treatments) were all made with this idea we’re calling Care3; this means that you can see, touch and smell the results. You see the color brilliance and shine, feel touchable soft and smooth hair and then you can smell the premium fragrances."
My hair not only looks and feels more vibrant, but it smells delicious too! I am SO thrilled with the new line of Wella products. To be honest, I was never one to really spend money on salon shampoos and products regardless of what other people said to me. I never saw the point, but my healthier and more fragrant hair is reason enough to make the switch. You have one chance to make a first impression, so you might as well look your best and Wella is what gets me there! Thank you to Matthew Tully, Katie and Wella for such a wonderful, beautifying and education hair appointment, I cannot wait to return!
