Last night a group of Dallas bloggers got together to celebrate the two mommies-to-be, Mrs. Preppy and Elefantitas Alegres, of the group and their babies.
We all met at La Duni at NorthPark for dinner. Mojito Maven, Champagne and Cupcakes, Slynrro and Shabby Princess and I all loved celebrating the mommies. Mrs Preppy is due in a few weeks and the big question of the night was "is it a boy or girl?" I think we were split down the middle, but our waiter thinks there is not only one baby boy, but two! He did correctly guess that Elefantitas Alegres is having a girl, so who knows....:) Since it was a gender neutral shower I tried to stick the more primary (read: neutral) colors. The combination of pink, kelly green and navy worked perfectly in my opinion. They are more sophisticated than the pale pink, sky blue, mint green and yellow and fun too.
I also figured Oreo balls are pretty gender neutral (everything with sugar in my book is...) so I made a batch for favors. I also made tags for these which I have included below. They said: "From small beginnings come great things!" So, so true!
Champagne and Cupcakes brought two jars filled with candy (yum!) and in each I placed a decorative printable I whipped up. This added some flair to our basic table and made it feel a bit more dressy.
One sign said: "Twinkling stars in heaven above are smiling down on baby with love!"
The second has another, cute, baby friendly saying: "Ten little fingers, ten little toes, two little ears, one little nose!"
I have included the gift tag printables below in case they might be of use to anyone. If you would like the signs, feel free to email me as I am happy to pass these on as well.
Over the past month I found it is rather hard to find really cute, budget friendly gift tags/signs. I think these work for showers and the tags might even work for a lower school graduation?
We all had such a fun time and practically shut the place down last night (the mall was actually closed when we left at 9:30pm). It was the perfect way to celebrate two wonderful people and their growing babies! Everyone also left me with SO many new blogs to look up. I feel so out of the loop and will be spending my entire weekend reading and catching up so I can better converse at our next get together!
