{a perfect combination: grey + coral}

. . . still catching up and in the midst of things -- grey and orange -- a perfect autumn combination of grey skies and vibrantly turning leaves . . .

{glamorous detail: flowers at the waist}

Adore the layered shades of paprika, saffron and apricot in the Rochas Spring 2010 collection in Paris, but most of all, flowers at the waist . . .

{p.s.} a fun quote:
"Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves, and of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys, they'd just walk around naked . . ."
-- Betsey Johnson

{runway inspiration: valentino + paris}

The runways of Paris were filled with the soft, fluttering tones of nude, rose, lavender, grey and gold of Milan, London and New York in the form of floaty, short, and sheer party dresses swirling with organza, tulle, antique lace and chiffon . . .

. . . and with the lovely addition of
London-based milliner Philip Treacy's stunning stilettos made of lace wings tracing upward from the heels . . .

. . . being away means catching up on a few things upon returning, and so, a flurry of things early this morning and well into the afternoon, but after, there will be many new and exciting things here, and even after that, so many more beautiful things to share later on in the day . . . do stop in again if you like . . .

hope you're well,
xo

{p.s.} if you're just arriving:

fendi, milan

. . . the runways of milan were wispy pink, ivory and ecru, in linen and tulle and ruffles and frills, all mixed with softly frayed edges, loosely piled hair and high, high heels wrapped in bows . . .

{p.s.}
* more wispy loveliness at the side project

* aren't the perspex clutches stunning?

{mostly london + a little new york}

. . . ending London Fashion Week with softly falling metallic confetti, Burberry Prorsum's reinvention of the trench coat in shades of camel and nude was luxurious, short, and draped loveliness . . .

. . . and for a last look at New York, more draping at Reem Acra, mixed with soft, floaty silks and satins and handfuls of princess jewels . . .

. . . bursts of tulle and organza mingled with structured yet playful shorts suits and all "with a little something to make you dream" at j.mendel . . . and ruffles and beautifully blurry silk prints from childhood memories of cherry blossoms at erin fetherston . . .

. . . one of the very few designers that could rival affections for monique lhuillier, {with the exception of chloé and stella mccartney}, would be j. mendel, whose purely romantic sensibilities are impossible to to resist, and whose spring collection was an ethereal dream of mousseline and tulle, exquisite hand-pleating and ruching, and stunningly elegant draped silk chiffon . . .

. . . would have never thought to pair the palest champagne with vibrant vermillion, and yet, in delicate sheers and pretty pleats, the combination is both striking and perfectly stunning . . .

. . . a longstanding love affair with monique lhuillier for as long as can remember, and couldn't possibly choose between such a stunning array of beautiful things from the spring 2011 collection, and so, not one, but two glimpses, the first, strewn in magnolias on silk and chiffon and belted in gold . . .
