{autumn comes in shades of hermès}

french-chic-hed
hermes-bluepool

. . . every year at this time, begin to fall for extravagantly vibrant hues -- russet and goldenrod and that perfectly elusive shade of french orange that sometimes flutters on a fallen and windswept leaf, caught up in the breezes of a cool september morning . . .

{two lovely things: same room, different light}

. . . happened across these photographs quite by accident and weeks apart, drawn to the striking combination of grand chandelier and gilt mirror, only to discover they were of the same room, in different light -- the first, warm rays and soft greys with a glimmer of gold, and the second, a more casual, rustic elegance, in deeper shades of slate and cobalt -- the difference is like spring and autumn . . .

{p.s.} more two lovely things

{tall trees & afternoon drives}

. . . often spend weekends away from the city, in the midst of tall trees and afternoon drives, and so -- quite adore the romantic and rustic styling of these photographs, a perfect compliment to the pretty polka dots, ruffles and lace, and delicate crocheted flowers . . .

{styling inspiration: time-worn nostalgia}

. . . charming styling by japanese design studio, jamo associates, with the same wonderful, time-worn nostalgia as sibella court -- bits and pieces and memories from travels, tiny vases and slants of light, but drawn most of all to the vintage cadbury glass case, perfect for storing and displaying old and favourite books . . .

{styling inspiration: brie & baguettes}

. . . utterly captivated by the beautiful arrangement of cheeses, baguettes, pears and honey by sunday suppers for martha stewart weddings' the bride's guide and its perfect mix of city sophistication and country charm . . .
