Tell Me Something : Splenderosa

TOWN OR COUNTRY?
Both.
Nothing can take the place of being in The City which, of course, means New York City. Once one is familiar with the city one realizes that it's a series of little neighborhoods, and for the most part no one leaves their own zip code or neighborhood.
However, when we are in the countryside there is just so much to enjoy, the relaxing atmosphere, the friendly people, and love of the land.

MUSIC OR BOOKS?
Well, one thing is for sure, I can't read & listen to music.
I love my Kindle and put myself to sleep each night reading. But, while working on jewelry designs, creating, I must have music.

PERFECT DAY?
Entertaining friends at home.

LONDON, PARIS, NEW YORK or SYDNEY?
Chicago or Seattle

BREAD or CAKE?
Neither

McDREAMY or McSTEAMY?
Sean Connery
Pierce Brosnan

ROMANTIC HERO or ACTION HERO?
Matt Damon (after the two above)

PRINCE WILLIAM or PRINCE HARRY?
King Arthur

CATHERINE or PIPPA?
I would say their mother!
That woman has made them what they are, and they've obviously turned out very very well. I adore Catherine's slenderness and innate elegance, plus her own sense of style for her new position.

HEELS or FAVORITE WINTER BOOTS?
Dolce & Gabbana High Heeled Black Satin Boots with embroidered flowers of all colors running down the outsides. Showstoppers.

FRENCH CHIC or ITALIAN SEX APPEAL?

This is the hardest question, Simone.
The elegance of the French and the fun of being Italian.
(Great answer Marsha! Simone)

CHOCOLATE or COFFEE
I do love my special made-my-own-way coffee every morning.

GREAT SHOES or GORGEOUS UNDERWEAR
The thing is you can't look fabulous if you don't have smashing shoes, now can you?
However, no one will know if you don't wear underwear.

PEDICURE, MANICURE or MASSAGE?
I really don't do massage. Don't know why, but I just do not enjoy having someone rubbing all over my supine body.
Cannot do without beautiful hands and feet.
Have worn French manicure for 20 years on my hands, sometimes on my toes too. I think being perfectly groomed includes hands and feet. And, I've been known to wear green toenail polish, and glitter polish too.

TALK IT OUT or KEEP IT TO YOURSELF?
Oh, definitely, talk it out.
But, mostly, you cannot get men to talk and I simply do not like one syllable responses.

KARAOKE - FIRST TO SING, LAST TO SING, OR ABSOLUTELY NO WAY-EVER
I love Karaoke, but ONLY observing. I could never get up there and sing.
Anyway, that's a blessing because I have the most horrible singing voice.

1. One beauty product or routine that you would recommend or can't live without?
Washing my face every single night, no matter what, then pile on the creams

2. One book you would recommend to anyone or that you love and often return to?
OMG, this is like recommending your gynecologist.
One of my favorite books ever is Atonement, the other, Guilty by Birth

3. One item that you would take to a desert island (can't be a person!)?
I guess that eliminates the hair dryer, right? No kidding, my Kindle.

4. One life-changing moment?
There have been many, both good & bad.
Having Ned Scott ask me to marry him in 1999 was the absolute best. And, it truly changed my life, all in a good way.
Losing 2 of my girlfriends in a short span of time was like dying myself.
And then, finally accepting with peace of mind the place I'm in now, where I have time, patience, understanding for those I love, but will no longer tolerate people with bad behaviors who are not good for me.
Drawing a line.

5. One movie that makes you cry every time?
I am a total sap with movies. I love them & I cry often.

6. Who would play the handsome hero in the movie of your life?
Well, when I was young, Sean Connery.
And now, Sean Connery.

7. How long have you known your oldest friend?
Since I was 6. There are 2 of them and we are still as close as ever. But, I have girlfriends whom
I've known for decades and we all just love each other, and think we're still cute & darling.

8. Your favourite book/movie/song?
So many books & I've already listed the top 2.
I loved Meet Joe Black, the movie, and I do watch it over & over, but I love The Departed for it's craftsmanship.
Song: U2 and Coldplay.

9. Three dream cities you have yet to visit?
Dublin, Brussels, Papeete

10. Three things still on your bucket list?
Sailing on one of the re-positioning cruises, spending an entire summer in the Pacific Northwest, learning to speak another language.

11. School days - happy or sad, good or bad memories?
Only happy & good, except for the fact that I never understood geometry.
Remembering the teacher/basketball coach who constantly said "open your minds."

12. What - or who - always makes you feel better on those more challenging days?
My friend, Vince Sica, who is like my brother. No matter how bad, we always laugh, always.
Then, fresh flowers in my home, cannot live without them.

13. Recommend a blog to us?

Sarah Klassen's Haute Design
I think she is not only genuine, but amazingly talented, and via her blog
we see the completely enchanting, worldly woman she is.

14. Happier now than you were at 20....honestly?!
Yes, definitely. Now I really do know everything.

Please describe yourself in ONE WORD ONLY :)
Unboring.

And finally, what is the one thing you know for sure?
Oh, now I know many things, but the most important single thing is that you must always forgive members of your family, keep them close no matter what happens, or how stupid they may act.

Forgiveness.

After forgiveness, it's creativity. Our lives are hugely enriched by our own innate creativity.
Whatever it is. I am completely at peace when I'm creating. It can be cooking, setting a beautiful table, designing & making jewelry, doing a flower arrangement, of simply making a perfect bed.
The pressures of the world cease when you create.
And, it makes us happy.
Completely happy.
And, we have something to show for our efforts.
Oh dear...is that 2 things?
