. . . high-heeled shoes and cupcake wrappers, mirrored dressers and vintage sconces -- always and irresistibly drawn to all things gold, and especially when intermingled with shades of lilac . . .

. . . falling leaves and chilly nights, stripes and sequins -- and always -- a little tartan, and it's beginning to feel like autumn . . .

{behind the scenes: style me romy}

. . . always adore backstage photos and discovering the blogs of stylists -- most recently, style me romy, the blog of sydney-based romy frydma, with an insider's look at favourite brands, fashion websites and photo shoots, as well as glimpses behind the scenes, including a favourite chris colls shoot in which aussie model miranda kerr shares a few of her favourite things . . .

{how to: driftwood table lamp}

d
. . . wonderfully inspired by what can become of a few pieces of driftwood, bits of string & a little imagination: australian stylist tim neve created this beautiful driftwood table lamp from a standard wood lamp base {below}, sanding down the lacquer to an unvarnished surface, affixed pieces of driftwood and tied everything with string . . .

{at the shops: the society inc.}

at-the-shops-hed-23
could spend hours browsing through the society inc., a "haberdashery meets hardware" store that specialises in local and global textiles, furniture, homewares and beautiful things . . .

began by sydney-born interior stylist sibella court in an 1800s corner shop in paddington, NSW, the society inc. changes its contents and interior 4 times a year, transporting visitors into another world:

above, beautiful things from the paperwhites theme, inspired by paper ephemera & beachcombing, creamy whites and soft, whispery silver & golds and barely-there pinks, vintage mother of pearl, and lovely old crepe papers . . .

{stylist: faye toogood}

always fun & interesting to come across the same photograph in two different portfolios, such as the beautiful image of the luxurious satin sheets {below}, originally discovered in the portfolio of photographer emma lee, only to discover it again -- nearly a year later, in the wonderful portfolio of stylist faye toogood . . .
