Super Bowl weekend in Dallas kicked off with event after event- everything is bigger and better in Texas especially when it is in the form of an event! On Thursday evening I headed West to Fort Worth for the Host Committee Gala at Billy Bob's. I always love going to Billy Bob's and they had quite the acts set up for the event.

Things kicked off with amazing BBQ buffets followed by Pookie O's make-your-own ice cream sandwich stations. The Spazmatics were playing the background and then out of nowhere the famed Kilgore Rangerettes hit the floor.

I had never seen them in person, but they are quite the drill team....oh, so Texas!
Side note: the attire was Western chic so I went all black and added cowboy boots and an Hermes scarf for a bandanna.

Then my beloved Pat Green hit the stage! I have seen Pat Green at Billy Bobs before, but it gets quite packed so a less crowded semi-private concert was a real treat. Then, out of nowhere Pat Green welcomed a birthday surprise for Roger Staubach to the stage...

Randy Travis joined him! He sang "Love You Forever" then he and Pat Green sang a special rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Mr. Staubach.

After about an hour of being spoiled by the voices of these two country stars it was time to dance with the Spazmatics! They are such fun and we all got a good workout (you can see it was extra good as the make-up all melted off out faces before we took the above photo)!
We finally decided to head out just as DJ Lucy Wrubel took the floor to finish out the evening. Well, the snow was not supposed to hit until after midnight, but when we walked outside at 11:45pm there was already a good inch on the ground and it was steadily coming down. Thank goodness few drivers were on the road and Jennifer and I grew up up North! It took us three times as long to get home to Dallas, but we made it and the most AMAZING evening was most certainly worth it!
Thursday evening was just the beginning to a FABULOUS weekend; Super Bowl weekend has been filled with lots of fun! There were lots of celebrity sightings (Eli Manning, LOTS of Glee cast members, Hayden P, Chace C, Pamela Anderson, football stars galore, politicians and MANY more) and too many good meals to count. Sadly, I lost my cameras battery charger (and to be honest am not one to go up and ask for a photo with people when they are going along their merry way), so alas, the memories will have to suffice!
