Travel Clothing

Ever since I started my blog I have gotten emails from readers asking me to share travel tips like packing, plane outfits, etc. I am FAR from an expert traveler, but have been on my share of flights and through quite a few airports. Though it has taken me three years to get around to posting this there could not be a better time than when I am jet setting to paradise!

This is what I wore on the plane to India last year. It is not my typical short flight travel outfit, but was PERFECT for a longer venture. I wanted to look coordinated, but also was all about the comfort since I was on an overnight flight.

Something I never throw to the wayside when flying is style. I always like to look somewhat put together and match. You never know who might run into or meet when rushing around an airport. You only have ONE chance to make a first impression. Here are some of my top plane travel tips when it comes to your outfit (they are basics and not rocket science, but goo reminders):

*Do not neglect jewelry. This is the perfect time to pull out some of those great costume pieces you to not wear often enough.

* While comfort is a must, remember you can be comfortable and stylish. Consider wearing leggings under a shirt dress or your most comfortable jeans with a darling top and jacket.

*Always make sure your clothes are just clean, but also pressed and free of stains (this is not simply for travel, but all the time).

*Avoid short skirts and dresses (I do not like touching the seat) and take the longer route. Your seat mate does not need a full on view of you.

* You can always accessorize with scarves! They look great and keep you warm when 30,000 feet in the air.

* Feet can expand when flying and walks from terminal to terminal can be long so be sure your shoes are comfortable. I never wear anything too fitted and stick with Revas or the likes. Toms are also great for overnight flights.

* Always consider packing an extra outfit in your carry on if you are checking your baggage. After a long flight you can change and if you luggage does not make it you will have something to hold you over until it makes it.

Bon voyage and cheers to summer trips!!
