This is (Not) London....

....a young woman jumps to safety....

insanity, mindless violence, lawlessness....

out of control looting....

terrible sights and sounds in London these last few nights....

....where i live is not far (enough) from where the trouble originally started, it's the same London borough....

....it seems that you don't ever know where things are going to occur next,

i certainly don't feel safe....

i went to bed at around 1.30pm to the sound of helicopters and sirens - and with a knot in my stomach....

today, some kind of clear-up operation seems to be in place -

the politicians might only just be heading back (way too slowly) from their holidays -

but the people of London who are genuinely outraged about businesses being mindlessly looted and destroyed by equally mindless thugs, are standing strong as always and helping those who were powerless and had little protection these last few nights.

and these are the kind of Londoners I do recognise,

it's a big city but one full of communities and neighbourhoods where people do care....

i am not sure though how you help someone who works hard day after day....

who has lost their entire business and their family's future overnight thanks to some moron who thinks society owes him something and therefore such destruction and violence is justified....

I am sad beyond and sick to my stomach....

this is not the London I know....
