As mentioned yesterday, every day in India was packed full of fun! Even when mother and father were on their Dengue deathbed I will still out and about all over New Delhi. One exceptionally fun day included a visit to Roosevelt House, the American Ambassador's residence. This US Embassy in New Delhi is a copy of the Kennedy Center, or rather, the Kennedy Center is a copy the American Embassy in India. When Jackie Kennedy traveled to India, the same trip in which the iconic elephant photo was captured, she fell in love with the building so much so that she engaged Edward Stone to build the Kennedy Center in Washington DC!
Anyhow, it was such a treat to not only be invited into Roosevelt House by Mrs. Romer (remember how mother has every connection know to man and knows everyone in New Delhi?), but I was even more excited to meet the Honorable Ambassador Tim Roemer and get a photo (even if I did look like I had been sitting out in the 100+ degree weather!)! Life is full of so many fun surprises and treats!
