As many of you know my birthday is in February so my birthstone is an amethyst. Well, I have to admit I have never really been a big fan of the color purple, with the exception of a short lived stint in 6th grade. However, traveling to India somewhat changed my opinion of this jewel tone. Purple can be found throughout the country in many forms; think not just clothing, but sunglasses, saris, storage containers, ribbon, buildings, you name it. Purple is actually a stunning color and even prettier when it comes in the form of large gemstones!
As part of my birthday gift this past year my parents gave me a lovely pair of amethyst and pearl earrings with a matching bracelet. To top it off they spoiled me with this stunning necklace:
It is beyond divine and I simply adore it!
While in India I thought it was only appropriate to add to my amethyst collection. So, I had the ring I am wearing above made. I have never been a ring person, but again this gem has changed my ways! I have been wearing the ring frequently over the past month and was thrilled to bring my other pieces back to Texas last night (mother had brought them back to the US). Purple is a great color for Fall and these jewels will most certainly get lots of love and use from me!
