{monday, monday . . .}
. . . hello! a bright & crisp september morning of a new week, and if summer has flown by quickly, this month has taken on an astonishing pace and perhaps already a little too chilly for open-toed sandals and on the weekend, tall leather boots for the very first time . . . but despite changing temperatures, very much looking forward to mornings in cozy knits, and especially marigold-coloured knitted capelets . . .
hope your week is off to a perfect start,
xo
{p.s.} also new today:
* colour inspiration: gold lamé & black velvet

Mellow Yellow......
If you asked me to name something yellow, I would probably say custard.....or bananas.....or bananas and custard ....maybe sunflowers......maybe lemons....which always make me think of my friend Kim because she loves them and of my husband because he loves anything with lemon in it......
Apparently though there is a world of gorgeous lemons and yellows out there, a whole load of sunshiney, golden, beautiful warm yellowy gorgeousness.....

Lemon souffle and lemon and pistacho shortbread from the divine cannelle-vanille

I wore a black hat very similar to this, slightly wider, to my brother-in-law's wedding about 12 years ago.....it was absolutely gorgeous, I never wanted to take it off.....it remains without doubt one of the most expensive items of clothing I have ever bought....EVER.....while it was in storage....in a hatbox.....a mouse feasted on it.....
Gorgeous Eva....gorgeous dress....

The lovely Penelope.....LOVE this dress....
My husband is the lemon fan in our house but if you arrived bearing these lemon cream cookies, I would probably let you stay....

More of these kinds of days please!

the winner was the lovely melisa of the lil bee, who was expecting at the time, and so chose to have a new nursery designed -- and now, a year and a new arrival later, a peek at how it all turned out . . .
Wise Words for a Wednesday....
It's been an absolutely gorgeous day here in London....sunshine all day long....
the kind of day when you feel that all is right with the world and nothing could ever go wrong....
the kind of day you just feel like whistling or dancing just for the heck of it....
it's a double-scoop-ice-cream-with-sprinkles-kind-of-day....
the kind of day when you really just want to sit in the garden drinking chilled wine with friends until the last rays of sunshine disappear....
the kind of day when you banish all thoughts of coats, winter and hot drinks and convince yourself that summer is here to stay....
Please let it be like this tomorrow :)
