Manolo Blahnik at Liberty of London.....+ Giveaway!

Fashion's Night Out last week in London saw the unveiling of the Manolo Blahnik pop-up shop "World of Manolo" at Liberty of London and today I went along to see it.

I haven't always been a "shoe" girl....but over the last couple of years I have fast become one...this morning may have just sealed the deal!!

I have to say that the pop-up boutique is a wonderful idea - you can browse and stroke touch the shoes as you wish and really appreciate them. I have long admired Manolo Blahnik's clear passion for shoe design and coveted his shoes, largely thanks to Carrie Bradshaw and "Sex and the City" but I can honestly say that today I understood why people think he is a true genius.

 The shoes go beyond beautiful, they are truly works of art, objects that you could simply sit and admire forever - this is a man who clearly has a life-long love of shoes.

For this collection, Blahnik went back through the vast Liberty archives to choose his fabrics, choosing fabrics from the 1960s. Liberty then designed three additional fabrics based on his drawings for this project for the accessories which accompany his shoe collection....the Rosebud which is a reference to Orson Welles in Citizen Kane, the Winter Shoe print and the stacked Shoe print.

The gorgeous collection also features the Campari court, also known as the Manolo Blahnik Mary Jane plus other exclusive designs.

The pop-up boutique is only there for three months and if you can I would recommend visiting....Liberty is a wonderful store so it's absolutely worth the trip.

 A beautiful book has been produced  called"Manolo's New Shoes" and the designer will be back at Liberty for a book-signing on October 21.
