. . . always a fondness for gold & gilded things, bookcases and nested tables and delicate dishes, especially if they are a perfect mix of porcelain and gold and made in paris and can already imagine them with floral vintage china or at an early autumn picnic . . .

. . . could spend hours browsing the rings and things at satomi kawakita jewelry, with its wonderfully organic sense of beauty -- there are tiny gold flowers, intricate & lacy details and delicate bangles, and most of all, exotic and startling beautiful gray diamonds . . .

. . . whether a perfectly pink & gracefully gilded chair, a gold & glamorous tray of be-ribboned silverware or a delicate bouquet of the palest roses, unapologetically pretty details add beautiful layers of luxurious elegance and refinement to any room, and -- best of all -- a little romance to the everyday . . .

{p.s.} isn't that the most wonderful chair ever? quite obsessed with it and tempted to paint all the walls that very shade of pink . . .

{also} more unapologetically pretty {pink} things:
* petal pink & french grey
* glimpses of pink
* ruffles & lace
* bits of gold & palest pink
* endless possibilites
* tea rose & roman coffee
* glamorous gold
* monday, monday
* the colour of cherry blossoms
* august sunrise & bits of gold
* a london flat
* floods of sunlight
* of cultured pearls & marble

{at this moment: hermès orange}

May never consider painting the walls a bright orange, but have lately been inexplicably drawn to its sheer vibrancy, at home and in fashion -- perhaps it's the coming change in seasons or the creativity the colour is thought to bring . . . or it may just be the promise of the beautiful things that arrive in those lovely orange boxes . . .

Hermès orange and a framed 1950s fashion photograph are the perfect compliment to a Louis XVI gilt console

{hello + glamorous gold velvet}

. . . shall always and forever adore velvet {this sofa is stunning}, and even more so after happening upon it in mesmerizingly beautiful and wonderfully luxurious shades of gold . . .

{p.s.} hello! thursday again, and dashing out the door for a late lunch on a sunny terrace across town, and today it's a chignon and diamond earrings, a delicate white dress with thin straps and gold embroidery, perfectly paired with gold strappy summer sandals

hope you're having spectacular week and more lovely things soon,
xo

{design inspiration: gracefully gilded}

. . . a little obsessed with the walter lamb armchair -- the original 1940s collection came about as a result of experimentation with bronze and copper tubing salvaged from sunken naval ships, and while the modern version is made of waterproof bronze, it's much too lovely to keep outside . . . and no shelf could possibly be complete without a set of stunning pink quartz and gold bookends -- hardly a more beautiful colour combination and so luxuriously elegant . . .

{also:} more gold -- pretty dishes & a coffee table

{p.s.} weekend wishes + links to follow, and still catching up on comments -- thanks so much for the lovely thoughts here xo

{pure romance: heart lariat necklace}

. . . quite besotted with this delicately pretty heart lariat necklace by the always effortlessly cool macha jewelry. . .

{colour inspiration: gold}

. . . always in love with all things gold, and after covering a cocktail table in gold-leaf in early spring, even more drawn to its elegant shimmer, especially as gilded accents on walls and along ceilings, and on luxuriously beautiful carved sofas . . .
