Town or Country?
Honestly, there are things I love about both--and I enjoy getting away to the country.
But I'm a city girl at heart. I love to be minutes away from shops and restaurants and entertainment!
I live in a mid-sized town, but I'm not much more than an hour away from Chicago...and I would love to live in a flat in the city.
Music or Books?
There is absolutely no way I could choose between the two.
Both are absolutely vital to my existence!
Perfect day - shopping/spa or doing absolutely nothing?
A spa day would be heavenly! I love facials, massages, manicures and pedicures...love being pampered.
The only time I crave doing absolutely nothing is if I've had an extraordinarily hectic schedule.
London, Paris, New York or Sydney?
I've been to New York a few times, and I do love it...but can I have both London AND Paris? Actually, I've dreamed of going to England, Ireland and Scotland since I was a little girl, so that package deal would be my first choice.
Bread or Cake?
Again, how can I choose?
I love both...and I can only have both in moderation, because I'm a type 2 diabetic.
McDreamy or McSteamy?
I've never really watched Grey's Anatomy, but I've always thought Patrick Dempsey is gorgeous!
Romantic Hero or Action Hero?
Since I'm not big on action movies, I'd have to say a romantic hero...unless you can combine the two!
Prince William or Prince Harry?
Again, tough choice!
Both are gorgeous...but Harry has a twinkle in his eye that makes me think he could be a real heartbreaker.
Catherine or Pippa?
Catherine. I'm almost obsessed with her!
I love her style, her effortless elegance, her breezy beauty. She's a style icon!
Heels or favourite winter boots?
Heels, I think. I do love boots, but they remind me too much of winter, which I really get tired of living in Northern Illinois.
I love the look of heels and how they elongate your legs and make you look sophisticated!
French chic or Italian sex appeal?
In fashion, or men? I think Italian and Italian-American men are gorgeous. I really don't know any Frenchmen.
And there are things I like about both French and Italian fashion.
Chocolate or Coffee?
Both, please?
But if I really had to choose, I think I'd have to say coffee. I don't drink a lot of it, but I have to have my daily two cups!
Great shoes or gorgeous underwear?
Great shoes, because more people can actually see them!
Although wearing gorgeous underwear CAN give you a certain confidence. :)
Pedicure, manicure or massage?
Oh, again with the choices.
I want all three...but I absolutely need regular pedicures.
Talk it out or keep it to yourself?
Talk it out, definitely. I have two sisters, and I don't how I would have gotten through the crises of my life without being able to rant and vent with them!
Karaoke - first to sing, last to sing or absolutely-no-way-not-ever?
Maybe not the first, but I'll give it a go. I love to sing, and have done so all my life.
1. One beauty product or routine that you would recommend or can't live without?
Primer! I just started using eyelid and face primer within the past year or so, and I can't believe what a difference it makes in the longevity of my make-up. I used to have to touch up my make-up constantly before I started using it...now it lasts for hours. My favorite eye primer is e.l.f., and my favorite face primer is Rimmel lasting finish--both easy on the wallet. Other than primer--I can't live without eyeliner!
2. One book you would recommend to anyone or that you love and often return to?
The Bible.
Other than that, Jane Eyre and the Chronicles of Narnia, I re-read them regularly!
3. One item that you would take to a desert island (can't be a person!)?
4. One life-changing moment?
When I held my first newborn son in my arms for the very first time.
5. One movie that makes you cry every time?
"It's A Wonderful Life." Gets me every time!
6. Who would play the handsome hero in the movie of your life?
Jeff Bridges, when he was a bit younger and not so scruffy. My husband actually looks quite a bit like him!
7. How long have you known your oldest friend?
Since my oldest friends are my sisters, pretty much all my life! Except for my younger sister, who is a few years younger than me.
8. Your favourite book/movie/song?
Book
(besides the Bible) Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte
Movie
Can't choose just one! These are my top 5, in no particular order: It's a Wonderful Life, Braveheart, Gladiator, The Princess Bride, Gone With the Wind
Song
Oh, there's no way I can be pinned down on this one! There are just too many.
Here is a sampling:
Your Song, by Elton John or Ewan McGregor
With or Without You, by U2
A Song for You--Various artists, including Leon Russell, Donny Hathaway, the Carpenters and Elliot Yamin
The Hallelujah Chorus
Rhapsody in Blue, by George Gershwin (if that can be called a song)
Night and Day, by Cole Porter, recorded by the Temptation
9. Three dream cities you have yet to visit?
10. Three things still on your bucket list?
1)My trip to England/Ireland/Scotland, 2)Write a book, 3) A cruise of the Greek Isles
11. School days - happy or sad, good or bad memories?
Mostly good!
12. What - or who - always makes you feel better on those more challenging days?
13. Recommend a blog to us?
I just discovered this one recently and fell in love with it: http://www.thewiegands.com/
14. Happier now than you were at 20....honestly?!
Yes. I know myself so much better...have so much more wisdom and knowledge.
I wish I could have all that along with the body I had at 20! :)
Please describe yourself in ONE WORD ONLY :)
Hopeful
And finally, what is the one thing you know for sure?
That there is a God, and that he loves me--and yes, I know it by faith.
