The reading room.....

I love being a reader.....I was a quiet and pretty shy child who spent hours snuggled away reading, safe in my own little make believe world of Enid Blyton, the Malory Towers stories, "What Katy Did", "The Secret Garden" and the Narnia stories.....hidden away from two naughty and noisy younger brothers.

I think if you really love reading as a child, then the thrill of choosing a new book or discovering a new author never leaves you....my own daughter is happily now reading many of the books that I loved when I was her age....in spite of the arrival of IPods, CDs, DVDs, DS Lites and goodness knows what else....not in our house yet but they do seem to be everywhere else.

Reading is the ultimate escape and given the opportunity, I would still read for hours.....although these days that is a rare thing.

I dream of a "reading room" or walls lined with books....with a huge comfy chair -or sofa - with lots of room for the piles of magazines I seem to have accumulated.....

Bliss....

I love this quote....

Wonderful....

Room for everything....

Treasured old books....

There's nothing like a good book.....we had a record of "The Little Prince" which we listened to when we were little....it must be over 30 years since I heard it but I can still hear parts of it in my head....

Colour coded books.....fantastic!

Book "stairs"....you can actually climb up and sit on these....ingenious!!

This is what I would love....

Nigella's study/library.....love it!

Very pretty!

Very stylish....

My children would love this!

I have no idea how you would reach those top books.....but this looks great....

Room for all your books....

My next read....this comes out in the UK in a week's time so I want to read this before then....

This month's Book Club read....am really enjoying this....
